I know, I know, it’s not even mid-August, but somewhere around this time every year, I start craving the feeling of fall long before the weather actually cooperates.
The good news? You don’t have to pull out the pumpkins just yet.
I always start with a few subtle changes that make my home feel a little warmer and cozier. Trade the lightweight throw for something with more texture, add a plaid pillow in warmer tones, and fill up those woven baskets with some aged wood, or a few natural branches from outside.
The secret is texture, not theme.
You’re not decorating for fall quite yet, just simply shifting the mood of the room. A little more warmth. A little more layering. A space that makes you want to curl up with a book even if it’s still 85 degrees outside.
Because sometimes the best seasonal decorating doesn’t announce itself.
It just feels like fall is on its way. 🍂
